When we want to buy something, we go to a shop. There are many kinds of shops in every town or city, but most of them have a food supermarket, a department store, men's and women's clothing stores, grocery, a bakery and a butchery.I like to do my shopping at big department stores and supermarkets. They sell various goods under one roof and this is very convenient.  There are different departments there: readymade clothes, fabrics, shoes, sports goods, toys, china and glass, cosmetics, cameras, records, etc. You can buy everything you like there.There are also escalators in big stores which take customers to different floors.   In the women's clothing department you can find dresses, costumes, blouses, skirts, coats, beautiful underwear and many other things. In the men's clothing department you can choose suits, trousers, overcoats, ties, etc.In the knitwear department one can buy sweaters, cardigans, short-sleeved and long-sleeved pullovers, woollen jackets. In the perfumery they sell face cream and powder, lipstick, lotions and shampoos.In a food supermarket we can also buy many different things at once: sausages, fish, sugar, macaroni, flour, cereals, tea. At the butcher's there is a wide choice of meat and poultry. At the bakery you buy brown and white bread, rolls, biscuits.Another shop we frequently go to is the greengrocery which is stocked by cabbage, potatoes, onions, cucumbers, carrots, beetroots, green peas and what not. Everything is sold here ready-weighed and packed. At a dairy you can buy milk, cream, cheese, butter and many other products.The methods of shopping may vary. It may be a selfservice shop where the customer goes from counter to counter selecting and putting into a basket what he wishes to buy. Then he takes the basket to the check-out counter, where the prices of the purchases are added up. If it is not a self-service shop, and most small shops are not, the shop-assistant helps the customer in finding what he wants. You pay money to the cashier and he gives you back the change

                                                    My friends

I have many friends. I like my friends. When we gather, we play computer games, chat, make lots of noise. I like noise.

To my mind, people should have many friends as possible, because if you have not friends, you just become very dull and boring person. It is fine when you have friends, who are able to understand you and support and help in difficult situations.

We have much in common and we enjoy communicating with each other.

One of my friends is Sergey. He is thirteen. I can say that he is a good guy. He is a schoolboy. He studies well, but he is not a hardworking person.

When we gather together we like to play computer games, to watch new movies and discuss them. His favourite subject at school Physical culture. He is keen on Physical culture. I guess he might become a great sportsman.

We are friends for a long time. We trust each other. We have some personal secrets. I can tell him about my troubles and he always helps me, if he can.

I'm happy to have such a good friend as Sergey.

                                           Friendship

Friendship is one of the central human experiences and for many people it may be as important as love.  It is rather difficult to describe the main features of friendship in one phrase. Friendship means devotion, complete trust and unselfishness. A friend is a person who understands and supports you in times of need or crisis, shows kindness and sympathy, has similar tastes, interests.

Your friend is your helper, adviser and supporter. You can always trust him and share your hardships with him. Friends are absolutely disinterested and they help you without being asked to and without the expectation that you will have to repay them. A true friend   can forgive you if you have hurt his feelings or if you have given him a lot of trouble.

There are different types of friendship. For example not every friend is called your best or close friend. Your best friend is a person with whom your share strong interpersonal ties. Your soulmate is someone who is  the ultimate, true, and eternal half of your soul. An acquaintance is a person with whom you don't share emotional ties, for example your coworker. A person with whom you share a 'postal' relationship and communicate through letters is your pen pal. Nowadays it is very popular to make friends online. Friendship that takes place over the Internet is called Internet friendship.

Most people have friends, regardless of gender, age, education, financial position and residency. But they tend to form friendships with representatives of their own social circle and with people of their own age. There is often a gap between people with different educational level, life experience and financial standing. In other words most people understand friendship as a union of the equal. However some of us have friends who are much younger or older than we are, who are poorer or wealthier and whose level of education is much higher or lower than ours.

Some reserved and shy people find making friends rather difficult. Besides, friendship means rendering a service to your friend from time to time, telling the truth and exhibiting loyalty. It takes time and effort, but true friendship is worth of it. It is stressful to live in the world of strangers, that's why people need friends. They give us a sense of being protected, emotional comfort and moral support. Having no friends can be emotionally damaging in some cases. As the proverb says, 'A true friend is the best possession'.

                       Sport

Sport is very important in our life. It is popular among young and old people.

Many people do morning exercises, jog in the morning and train themselves in clubs, in different sections and take part in sport competitions.

Other people like sports too, but they only watch sports games, listen to sports news. They prefer reading interesting stories about sportsmen. But they don't go in for sports.

Physical training is an important subject at school. Boys and girls play volley-ball and basketball at the lessons. There is the sports ground near our school and schoolchildren go in for sports in the open air.

A lot of different competition are held at schools, a great number of pupils take part in them. All participants try to get good results and become winners. Sport helps people to keep in good health. If you go in for sports you have good health and don't catch cold.

Children and grown-ups must take care of their health and do morning exercises regularly.

There are some popular kinds of sports in our country: football, volley ball, hockey, gymnastics, skiing, skating. Athletics is one of the most popular kinds of sports. It includes such kinds of sports as: running, jumping and others. Everybody may choose the sport he (or she) is interested in.

There are summer and winter sports.

My favourite sport is swimming. I go to the swimming-pool twice a week, but I prefer to rest by the lake or the river and swim there. My friend Kostya goes in for boxing. He is a good boxer and he is a brave and courageous boy. His hobby helps him in his every day life.

TOPIK THE TOWN OF MY DREAMS

Every body has it's own idea about the town of his dream. Town of my dream is a small town.

My town is situatid on the bank of a beautiful river. There are a lot of green trees and flowers in my town. There are no big factories and plants in my town. Theth's why my town is clean and the air is always fresh. There are a lot of places of interests in my town : theatre , 

        cinema

 and cafes.

 

 

People in my town know each other. Welcom to my town.



                London
                   London, the capital of Great Britain, is situated on the Thames River. It is the largest city in Europe with a population of eight and a quarter million. It is divided into four parts: the City, Westminster, the West End and the East End. The City is the business and commercial heart of London. Many banks, offices and firms are concentrated there. The Tower and St. Paul's Cathedral are in the centre. The Tower is about 900 years old. Many years ago it was a royal residence, then a prison. Now it is a museum. St. Paul's Cathedral is very large and fine. Westminster is the centre of administration. We can see the Houses of Parliament there. It is a beautiful building with two towers and a very big clock called Big Ben. The Houses of Parliament stand in Parliament Square. Westminster Abbey is opposite the Houses of Parliament. Many great Englishmen were buried in Westminster Abbey. To the west of Westminster Abbey you can see Buckingham Palace. It is the royal residence. The ceremony of the changing of the guards which takes place in front of Buckingham Palace is of great interest to the tourists. Rich people live in the West End. The best and most expensive clubs, restaurants and theatres, beautiful houses and parks are there. The East End — the district of plants, factories — is for the working people. London has rather wide streets but low houses. It looks very grey because there is so much rain and fog there. Only buses and pillar-boxes are red. This city has never been planned and it has many parts which are different from each other.

                                My English studies

Our first lessons of English started from rhyms, songs and movements. At that time English seemed a kind of game to me. Step by step we learn more words and then short sentences. I liked my English lessons for the first moment. But now i understand thet English only seems an easy language. There are a lot of things that are hard to understand and impossible to remember. In senior classes we have 3 lessons a week and 1 additional lesson. Much attention is paid to grammar, writing all kinds of tests, speaking and listening. Getting ready for the English lessons doesn't take me a lot of time. I always do my homework. I understand that only by working hard and continuously you can make progress in foreign language. Our teacher is a nice person in every way and interesting to talk to. She is never indifferent to any of us.


                             My English Class

Most of us learn English because we want to get a good job. It is useful when we  travel abroad. Some of us want to read and enjoy English literature.

A foreign language is absolutely necessary for every modern specialist. More then 350 million people speak English as their native language.Our English teacher is a nice person in every way.She says that every educated person should be able atlist one foreign language.She is never indifferent to any of us.It goes without saing that there is understanding between the teacher and the pupils.She gives us different texts to read.We describe pictures, watching videos and speak a lot.Also we practice our English skills.

I'd like to say that we learn English in a friendly atmosphere.Our teacher is experinced.She takes an interest in us.

                          Foreign Languages
One of the main thoughts of this text is that English language is easy to learn. For example Japanness is difficult to learn. Beacause it has a completely new writing system and there are hardly any words that are the same in English. The ancient Greek language is hard to learn to. Because it is the language that nobody speaks and a dead language. It is a waste of time to learn dead languages. Learning the language is the process. You never stop learning with a foreign language. Because each foreign language has it's all practical value. Every educated person must learn foreign language. Learning foreign languages is fun and pleasure for my.


                                Money

Frankly speaking, it is almost impossible to imagine life of a modern person without money because we need to pay practically for everything in this life except mother’s love.

It is a symbol of power, glory, fame, our entire happiness depends on whether we have it, or we do not. People have used different things as money: knives, rice, cattle and other. Coins were first used in Greece, paper money was invented in China. Now people carry credit cards instead of cash. With your credit card you can take money from the cash-machine anytime you needed it. Many countries in Europe now have the same currency.

People travelling to other countries to convert their money.

There are a lot of people in the world and in our country too. You must know now much money you can spend for food, clothes and others.

Pocket money is a nice thing. Every week I get pocket money from my parents and I often help them about the house.



                                    Music
I like music. My favorite kind of music is pop music. I like to listen to the music as background when i doing my homework. I am fond of The Beatles. My favorite song is yesterday. Their music is very pleasent. This music is full of energy.

                                 Books       

 A house looks glum and joyless without books. Some books teach us to live, some entertain and give pleasure, some are very helpfull in difficult situations. Books make us read, enjoy, live hero's life and suffer together. Why do we enjoy some books ? What books do we prefer ? Let's think over and discuss this.



                          My Favorite Book
My name is Danila and i'm fond of reading.A house looks glum and joyless without books. My favorite book is Harry Potter . It’s an amazing book which was written by JK Rolling many years ago. This science fiction book talks about a magical school where many students from all over the world come to study. The main characters are Harry and his two friends . It is about the exciting adventures that they had, it’s very interesting. This is a book that every fiction lover will enjoy reading. It’s full of adventures and many good things. It was made into a movie later .If you get the chance , I recommend you to read it .
